The story is narrated by a ballet girl in an Icelandic pavilion. The heroine Bingtong is a fatherless orphan who has to do things against her will in order to survive since she was a child. However, it is Bingtong's unhappiness and sadness that often reflects some social phenomena, because Bingtong herself is a lonely and special girl, and her specialness has led to many unfortunate things. It is precisely because of this that the protagonists in the story also talk about their attitudes and cowardice when facing the pressure of life.
