Previously, the book "The World of Mental Illnesses" (also known as "Geniuses on the Left, Madmen on the Right") was quite popular. It followed the perspective of some patients with mental disorders to see the world in the form of interviews, and also painted this group of unusual people with a mysterious and even dreamy color. Some of them are like superpowers that are not understood by ordinary people. I haven't finished reading that book, but from what I have read, it is far from the "world of mental patients" that I have seen. Many patients with mental disorders will describe some fantastic experiences, but most of them are vague and fragmentary, and those exciting parts are not the main content of their real lives - although that may be the part that best fits everyone's imagination and is the most interesting to people. As a psychiatrist, I have the opportunity to come into contact with them more. The world of mental patients I see is mostly cruel and mediocre, so I want to change my perspective and see them from the perspective of an outsider, or "our world."
