If the family members do not agree to the autopsy, the public security organs can still perform the autopsy. The reason for this provision is:
1. The examination of the corpse must be carried out in a timely manner to prevent the traces on the corpse from disappearing due to changes and decay of the corpse.
2. If the cause of death is unknown, the possibility of murder by relatives cannot be ruled out.
It is the obligation of the public security organs to notify family members to attend the scene. It is the family's right whether to attend or not.
As a forensic doctor, my duty is to examine the last "monologue" left by the deceased to the world, find out the truth of the case, and prevent the deceased from dying in vain, let alone the suspects from going unpunished.
