I accidentally saw this article written more than two years ago, and I was very moved. I had a breakdown and depression for a period of time. In 2020, I was very depressed during online classes at home. I kept having thoughts of self-harm and suicide. Later, I went to see a psychiatrist to no avail. She said that I wanted to experience death out of curiosity. The indifference of family and friendship made me feel like I was falling into the abyss.
For a "top student since childhood", losing his grades is like losing his foundation and the motivation to live. I wonder if anyone understands.
