As the saying goes, on the day of Zhongyuan, evil spirits pour out in droves and demons howl. Ordinary people should stay off the roads at night. On Ghost Festival, He Shu picked up a strange passenger, encountered a peculiar bird, and had his first dealings with the odd neighbor across the hall. In the end, he realized that the strangest one of all was his neighbor. Guanghan, a man whose name was as strange as he was, was handsome enough to be a celebrity, yet colder than Lake Baikal in winter. He Shu felt a breath wash over him, as cold as the man himself, but carrying an indescribable, subtle fragrance. It was like the lingering scent left in the air after incense ash had burned away. Caught off guard, He Shu let the man bring the tip of his nose almost against his own, then move down along his cheek to softly sniff his neck and shoulder.
