In the small town of Shanshui where the war has subsided, Zhou Wanpin, a woman from the Republic of China, received a letter from her father, a famous warlord, and went to another place not far from her home to marry Wen Shihua, the eldest son of the Wen family. Then she got acquainted with Wen Shijie, the rebellious second young master of the Wen family. Zhou Wanpin never thought that after experiencing a series of events such as being kidnapped in a bandit camp, the death of her husband, and a ghostly marriage ceremony, she would eventually choose to hide in the world with this person who she hated so much. What makes Zhou Wanpin even more confused is that Zhao Xiezi, a man from the Jianghu who once rescued her in the martial arts contest, chose to leave without saying goodbye. Zhou Wanpin returned to the bamboo forest where she had spent time with Zhao Xiezi and wrote down her own questions: Sir, you owe me an explanation after all.
