A boatman was holding a small boat and sailing slowly on the river. One bamboo pole and one pole, the water rose and fell. The wind was so gentle, as if coming from a dark place where no light had been seen for thousands of years. It was cold and solemn, three points worse than the cold wind in winter. There was a bamboo pole standing on the bow of the boat, and an old yellow cloth hanging on it, with a huge line of words 'Atonement for others' written on it.
