Mom said there are many people in the world, many more than us foxes. Our furs are the most beautiful and expensive things in the world. Everyone wants it, especially beautiful women. Yet having our skin covered by people is the scariest thing for us. In order to protect ourselves from being hunted for our beautiful fur, we are forced to learn spells and transform into other forms.
I choose to become human, and I want to know why humans hunt us for our furs. And we never want to hunt people for their glorious skin. There is also the love that my mother said, a wonderful emotion that only humans can have. People who have feelings will cry, but we foxes never cry.
Mom said that if we can get the love of a mortal, we can get a human heart and a free soul. I don't know what love is when my mother talks about it, or what the difference is between a human heart and a fox's heart. But if I could become a real human being, I would forever escape the fate of being hunted.
I think I should get the love of a mortal and escape the fate of being hunted forever.
