"I was no longer the crazy person I was from the moment I fell from the attic."
1
Bertha Mason burned down the entire Thornfield Manor. When she stood on the attic window sill, spread her arms, and silently prayed to her father in heaven to meet her, a strong hand grabbed her shoulder.
Bertha just looked back at him, intending to use her withered hands to drag this devil down to the hell burning with karma.
However, when she opened her eyes again, she saw those black eyes again.

Survival or destruction?
This is a question that Bertha has been thinking about in her past life and this life.
"Survival? Destruction? We have no choice, dear Bertha." A faint whisper came from Rochester's throat. He bent down, put his hands on her thin shoulders, looked at the woman's face in the mirror, and raised the corners of his lips.
Like a lover's whisper, Edward Rochester put his lips against her ear vaguely: "Your father and brother put the best roses in my hands, Bertha, and I will make you happy."
Bertha stared blankly at the intimate pair of "lovers" in the mirror. After a long time, she turned her face and kissed the thin lips that drooped at the corner of his mouth.
"Arson? I am not an arsonist, Mr. Rochester."
"You are the fire."
Bertha's bright red lips opened and closed: "This fire will destroy you at any time. My dear Edward, aren't you afraid?"
"Afraid?" Mr. Rochester laughed, as if this was the biggest joke in the world. "If you set a fire, I will prepare strong liquor and wait for your tongue of fire to wrap around my body... Bertha."
