She stood on a white stone arch bridge, with rushing water under the bridge. The official road winds along the side of the mountain wall, and the lush vegetation along the way blocks most of the scorching sun for the dusty people.
There were beads of sweat sliding down her cheeks, and she raised her hand to wipe it with her sleeve.
Some people passing by looked at her from the corner of their eyes, while others stared at her without hesitation. They even raised their hands and waved them in front of her, and suddenly said:
"It turned out to be a blind man."
She heard this sound, and her hand wiping sweat paused in mid-air, then put it down, hanging quietly by her side.
She stood quietly until dusk, feeling a dull pain from the old disease in her left shoulder. There were fewer and fewer people on the mountain road, and she didn't know whether she should go back. "This is the first day I'm waiting for him here," she thought to herself, "He is a person who can travel day and night, but I can't stand here day and night."
She thought about that night again, under the firelight that filled the sky, and the anxious breath lingering on the tip of her nose.
"You understand me." He held her shoulders tightly, "Be strong, I will definitely come to you."
The midsummer evening breeze is soft and moist, causing the leaves in the forest to rustle and the cicadas to chirp. She came to her senses, shook her head, and walked away with a smile.
"Maybe I can't wait long."
