The full text consists of five novellas, each with ten chapters, and is estimated to be 130,000 words. The first chapter about Ren Sangzhi tells the story of Ren Sangzhi's four friends collecting and burying his body after his death. It also leads to a public case from more than 20 years ago through flashbacks and memories. Although Ren Sangzhi died, the story did not end there. The following four stories are all related to it.
