There are many things in the world that are inconspicuous and yet extremely familiar to us. Familiarity is actually just how our brains think they look.
For example, the flowers on the roadside look familiar. I have seen large plants since I was a child, but no one except children would squat down and carefully distinguish their appearance.
There is the fragrance of flowers on the roadside, but except for the deserted paths, everywhere is bustling with excitement. The sounds, noises, and smells are naturally there. Food, garbage, you mix mine, I mix yours. It's complicated and intertwined. Who cares about which flower fragrance is there, and you can't smell it.
