Lin Tinglan was born in the rural areas of southern China in the 1980s. Her ancestors have been farmers for generations, and her life is hard and simple but also real and warm. Over the past thirty years, she has witnessed the rapid development of Chinese society. She has also gone through a path similar to that of most of her peers, going to school, taking exams, entering higher education, graduating, working, and escaping from the countryside. As an employee of a wedding planning company, she works hard for the happiness of couples every day, listens to happy songs, and makes passionate friends. If her father hadn't called her to tell her to go back to her hometown in the countryside to see her grandfather who was seriously ill for the last time, she thought she would be like all the young men and women in the city and continue to live in the city with goals and pressure, just like she did when she fled the countryside. She took a leave of absence and returned to her hometown after a long journey. In the end, she was not able to look at her grandfather and say his last words. He was lying in the cold coffin, looking like he was sleeping. Lin Tinglan just knelt in front of the coffin, using the fragments of the past that came to mind to say a final farewell to the ninety-year-old man in front of her.
Intention: Farewell is not an end, but a new beginning.
