On the seventh day of March, the spring rain is about to stop. Willows are hanging on both sides of the Weicheng Bridge in the imperial capital. Looking from under the bridge, there is a lot of traffic and excitement. Walking in search of the fragrance of tea, you can see teahouses in twos and threes standing on the street. Most of the teahouses are storytellers and opera singers. They talk about old things and sing Huangmei opera excerpts that have aged well.
"In the sixty-seventh year of Dayin, Qi Jingyun, the third emperor of Qi Dynasty, died at the age of sixty and two, and his posthumous title was Emperor Rui. According to legend, after Emperor Rui passed away, he went directly to the imperial mausoleum in Beiyuan of Dayin, and buried beside him was the love of his life, Queen Su Ying." The storyteller said in a measured tone: "However, there are rumors that the one who was buried in the imperial mausoleum and accompanying the queen was only the mantle of Emperor Rui during his lifetime. In fact, Emperor Rui was buried on Tonglu Mountain northwest of Weicheng, the imperial capital of Dayin. He was buried without any royal artifacts, except for a long sword and a sachet."
The storyteller on the stage talked with gusto, while the spectators and listeners in the audience were still enjoying the story while cracking melon seeds.
As for who this sachet belongs to, there are naturally different opinions on the secrets of love and romance. Some say it was a token of love between Queen Su and Prince Rui when she was young, while others say it was embroidered by Prince Rui's favorite concubine Jing Fei a few years after he became emperor. However, storytellers rarely pay attention to it. After all, Prince Rui is a wise king, and the things in the harem and his achievements in the previous dynasty are not worth mentioning.
Eliminating floods, pacifying eight kings, and controlling the Southern Barbarians... These great achievements have always been inseparable from the presence of these two people - the national preceptor Shen Ronghe, and the imperial physician and censor Wen Ru.
"Speaking of the Imperial Physician and Censor Wen Ru," Mr. Storyteller slapped his fan lightly, shook his head and said, "That's really incredible..."
The furnace of history has passed by till now, and all that is left to future generations is a piece of paper.
