Reading this article has strengthened my judgment - Shi Zhaoming is a complete anti-social psychopath. He is a committed hedonist, narcissistic, unscrupulous, a compulsive liar, manipulative, guilt-free, devoid of empathy (empathy and compassion are not the same definitions), has no respect for social laws and authority, and fully meets four of the four criteria on the Haile Scale of Psychopathy—vainness, callousness, unreliability, and antisocial tendencies.
The setting of a vampire and his fluid gender strengthen this feature, making him a perfect, predatory and irresistible force, representing the original, deadly, uncontrollable desire of Aphrodite.
For Shi Zhaoming, there may not be a real emotional connection with others, but more of seeking happiness and excitement, or enjoying the fun of controlling others. Especially when it comes to emotions, he is the absolute superior. Showing weakness or showing love are just ways for him to control others again and again.
