After reading the original novel, I realized that the TV series' portrayal of Liu Nian was a bit single and cruel. He is indeed a selfish businessman and an extreme gambler, but he is also a man who loves Chen Yifan miserably.
I know that he is an out-and-out villain in the show, and I also know that many people hate him, but I do feel sorry for his loneliness and coldness.
I hope that Liu Nian can love Chen Yifan, the light in his life, from beginning to end, and I also hope that Chen Yifan brings more than just hurt and coldness to Liu Nian.
This will be a brand new story. I will try not to change the characters and fate of other characters, but I will try my best to give Nian Fan a gentle world.
