The timeline begins when Ryusuke and his mother take a train and move back to Mist Town, the place where he lived when he was young. After Ryusuke was reborn, he retained some of his spiritual power as a boy in white at the crossroads. At the beginning, he had no memory before his rebirth. Later, he would regain his memory and what he knew in some period of time.
The setting here is that Ryusuke, Xiao Lu, and the boy in black are all childhood playmates. There are also many personal and private settings added, so don't take it too seriously. I don't have any official information. I am just imagining reasonable occurrences based on logic.
