I am a Buyi ethnic minority. My hometown is Changshun County, Guizhou Province, where there are a dazzling array of ethnic costumes, rich ethnic festivals, unique ethnic houses and other colorful folk customs.
Although I have never worn Buyi costumes for a day, nor can I speak the Buyi language, nor can I sing beautiful folk songs like my mother, I still have a deep attachment to the mountains, rivers, plants and trees in my hometown. I only grew up in that quaint and peaceful mountain village for seven years, and then moved to the provincial capital with my father. However, during my childhood, I followed my mother to talk about the good harvest in the fragrance of rice flowers, counted the stars with my younger brother, and listened to the sound of frogs. It has become a beautiful scenery and is deeply rooted in my mind.
There are many things that have been forgotten, but that country road cannot be forgotten. There are many things that have been remembered, but the country road can only be found in the deepest part of my memory.
Now I write again to express my deep sadness for the declining national customs and my friends who love national culture...
