About the work: This is a memoir based on personal emotional experience. It mainly tells about my depression in love and marriage and my thoughts on human nature and life. It reflects the emotional anxiety of my contemporaries.
About the content: This work has two parallel emotional lines, friendship is bright and warm, and love is dark and cold. The main conflict is reflected in my persistence in pursuing love and compromise in marriage. It describes the incompatibility between my inner moral bottom line and the impetuous atmosphere of the current society, and the development curve of my psychological state, from longing, fantasy, disappointment, anxiety, confusion, despair, compromise, and finally to enlightenment and transparency. The overall emotional tone is gray, but the curve of the psychological state gradually moves from darkness to clarity.
Regarding the title of the work: At first, I named this work "The Curse of the Past Life". Later, I felt that the contrast between the magic and documentary content of this name was too great, so I changed it to "Barren". In this way, the title of the work fit the content, but it was too literary. After several twists and turns, the title of the work was finally changed to "The Emotional Epic of a Post-80s Woman".
