Yu Ge and Kang Ze have known each other since childhood. Not only did they learn rudimentary evil-exorcism techniques together from their grandfather, who was proficient in foreign arts, but when they grew up, they were both admitted to the archeology department of the local provincial university. In 2006, the two of them followed a professor from the department to a large-scale archaeological excavation site on the outskirts of the city as assistants. While looking at an ancient flag unearthed, they fell into a coma unconsciously. When they woke up, they were surprised to find that the time and space they were in had changed - a new world, where ancient people were the main subjects, and demons, spirits, and monsters lurked and coexisted. What happened was as strange and confusing as in a Chinese fairy tale. The two relied on ancient banners with magical powers that had also "travelled" to protect themselves, exorcising evil spirits and avoiding disasters along the way, while constantly looking for a way to return to the original world...
