It tells the story of the encounter between a 27-year-old third-rate painter and an 18-year-old boy who loves literature and art. On the surface, it is a communication between the painter and the boy, but behind them they all have their own unspeakable secrets and desires. Shen Dong, a painter who seems to be aloof and self-proclaimed, is actually struggling to survive with the support of a certain "friend"; Gu Bei, a literary young man who claims to just want to experience the artistic atmosphere, actually has an unknown purpose and background.
