After reading "Tian Long Ba Bu" earlier, I thought that since the five women Dao Baifeng, Gan Baobao, Qin Hongmian, Ruan Xingzhu and Kang Min each have their own charm and beauty, Jin Yong himself had no time to write about them in detail. They are just characters on paper created with a few strokes of eyes and eyebrows. After all, we have no idea of the story behind that face. We feel like old friends at first sight but always pass by each other; we seem to have known each other but they disappear as soon as we meet. We know that good things are hard to come by, but we also know that life will be full of misfortunes; we know that time is impermanent and beautiful women will grow old easily; we also know that the local accent will never come back, and the wild goose will never come back. So I thought about awareness and ignorance, knowledge and ignorance.
But I happen to be able to write, and I also want to practice writing; so why not do it, knowing but not knowing? So I imitated Jin Yong's writing and tried to write Qin Hongmian, the mother of Mu Wanqing. There are three reasons for choosing to write about her: First, Jin Yong wrote a lot about Wanmei. Since Qin Hongmian is Wanmei's mother, there must be many similarities; there are many places for reference when writing. Second, Qin Hongmian was dubbed "stunning" by Jin Yong, which really gave me a lot of convenience in trying to write: Why should I write about a stunning woman? Third, as a man, I naturally like Wanmei; I love my mother-in-law, so I have to take care of my mother-in-law. Even though I knew that it would be a heart-breaking ending with a long life and a tragic ending, I still chose to try to write Qin Hongmian. In Jin Yong's original work, she only wrote about the plot where she went out to seek revenge because of jealousy and finally died under Murong Fu's sword. So what I had to do was to imitate Jin Yong and write "The Legend of Red Cotton" to fill in the blanks he left.
