July, ghost month. According to legend, every year on July 1st, the King of Hell orders the gates of hell to be opened, allowing those unjust souls and ghosts who have been suffering and imprisoned in hell all year round to walk out of hell for a short period of time and enjoy the blood of the world. On the half of July, it is a day for living people to pay homage to their ancestors. It is called the Bon Festival or the Ghost Festival, commonly known as the Ghost Festival.
