Reading Dream of Red Mansions, I have been lamenting the fate of the beautiful girls in the book. There is also a small doubt. The Jia family seems to be a small and independent kingdom. The social circle of Baoyu and other male characters is extremely narrow, with only a few family friends, such as Zhen Baoyu, Feng Ziying, and King Beijing. The female character's activity circle does not leave Jia's house.
In this context, Baoyu has become the dream partner of all girls, which really makes people speechless.
But there is a wider world outside the high walls of the Jia Mansion. If Sister Lin and Sister Bao step out of the high wall, even if they only get a glimpse, will their destiny change?
Xueyan is a very minor character in Dream of Red Mansions. The little girl Lin brought to the Jia family from Suzhou. The original work has very limited coverage of her, but I think she is an excellent bystander. So I chose her as the protagonist of this article, and used her eyes to see the story of a modern woman fighting against her fate in an era when men were superior to women.
