Under the double shackles of power and gender, the encounter between Helena and Dionysus is more like a self-salvation that mirrors each other.
Helena's pain is essentially a woman with a "ruler's soul" who is torn apart from her own identity in an era that completely denies the value of women. Her anger stems not from unfulfilled ambition, but from the entire world's complete denial of the legitimacy of her existence. The more she proves her ability, the more she feels the "original sin" of being a woman. This inner tear makes her never able to reconcile with herself.
The appearance of Dionysus broke this deadlock. He was once the owner of power, but now he is reduced to a slave. This huge gap in status allows him to understand Helena's suffocating feeling of "having ability but no power" better than anyone else. He does not try to "tame" her ambition, nor deny her anger, but as an equal soul, he guides her to see that womanhood is not a shackle, but a part of her complete self.
Their relationship goes beyond simple "conquering" and "conquered". In Helena's eyes, Dionysus is the only confidant who can understand her pain; in Dionysus's eyes, Helena is the meaning of life he has rediscovered after his sinking. What they deliver to each other is not only love, but also the ultimate confirmation of the value of each other's existence.
