These are the names of two weapons. This book tells a folk story that happened in this special historical period of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. There are two male protagonists (Zhu Yu and Zhu Shang) and three main female characters (Yu Shenxing, Lianxiang, and Song Xiangyao). The protagonists Zhu Yu and Zhu Shang were both princes of the former Ming Dynasty. They escaped with their lives during the rebellion, but fell into the Jianghu by mistake and became disciples of the Longmen force in the Central Plains martial arts world.
Later, after experiencing a bloody storm, Zhu Yu left Longmen and became the envoy of Chenyang Palace, the largest power in the north. Until the leader, he corrected his evil ways and raised the banner of resistance to Longmen. He was enlightened by the master and eventually became the leader of the generation; while Zhu Shang helped the tyrants again and again. By chance, he became a disciple of the hidden sect Liao Fengzhai, learned the unique secret skills of each major sect, and became the number one killer in the Central Plains martial arts. A struggle between good and evil is quietly unfolding behind the two protagonists.
The Alluring Sword is a divine sword obtained by Zhu Shang's blood-stained Xi Shu, while Huang Tian and Zun Fan are the most precious treasures obtained by Zhu Yu from Tong Tianju, his disciple. In terms of content, this work abandons the tired traditional sects such as Shaolin and Wudang, and instead explores new and interesting sects through ancient Chinese legends and poems.
This book depicts a huge martial arts background. Horizontally speaking, the world's martial arts is divided into five divisions (Beitian, Central Plains, Dongbin, Southern Kingdom, and Western Regions). The opening poem records the twenty main major and small sects with their own characteristics, including Buddhism, Taoism, and customs. Vertically, the time spans more than fifty years (from Wanli in the Ming Dynasty to Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty), the large and small sects complement each other, the plot development closely follows the historical facts, and the appearance and curtain call of more than 200 large and small characters together form a grand picture of the rivers and lakes.
This work imitates "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and brings readers a broad reading experience through historical romance. It uses Luo Guanzhong's creative techniques to depict the heroes who discuss the affairs, which has a unique flavor.
