From ancient times to the present, the legend of the Ten Palaces of Yama has been circulated. The King of Hell is in charge of the cycle of life and death. After death, the soul leaves the body and must go to the underworld to report to the King of Hell and accept the trial of the King of Hell. Everything in the world is divided into yin and yang, and the same is true for the ten palaces of Yama. King Yama is in charge of the underworld, commanding hundreds of ghosts, and judging their crimes; Yama is in charge of the yang world, controlling evil ghosts, and extraditing the souls of the dead. The king of Yama is divided into eighteen little kings and eighteen ministers. They each serve as their masters and lead hundreds of ghosts to protect their masters.
