Rurouni Kenshin: the Last Mibu Wolf

The Shinsengumi, a violent organization composed of ronin during the late Tokugawa period, came to power on the blood of the reformers. They were desperadoes eager for quick success. However, after the Xuchen War, they disappeared in the long river of history like meteors passing through the times. But there was a man, his name was Saito Kazuchi. As the last immortal wolf, he lived until Meiji. He disappeared from the sight of the reformers after the Tathagata-do battle. However, in the eyes of the people of Aizuwakamatsu Castle, he fought with the Suzaku team, which represented the Phoenix among the four beasts, until the final battle ended. Because of the cruel post-war punishment of the new government, he became a member of the Dounan Fan prison camp, and the Wakamatsu people could only mourn and cry because they could not bury the bodies of their relatives. Among these war victims was a girl who called his name in the wilderness in order to find his body. In the end, she summoned a ghost, opening up a completely different Meiji period and uncovering the truth buried in the dust of history.
