In the 23rd year of Fucha's reign (473 BC), the capital city of Gusu (today's Suzhou) was captured by Gou Jian's troops. Fu Chai was besieged on Gusu Mountain to the west of the capital of Wu. The Kingdom of Wu was destroyed, and Fu Chai was also exiled by Gou Jian, and finally committed suicide.
