Schizophrenia Treatment Guidelines
1. Hypnoanalysis is more effective than classic psychoanalysis.
2. Treatment is most dynamic when the therapist forms a good empathic relationship with the patient with multiple personalities and avoids resentment or malice toward any one of the patients' personalities.
3. Encourage internal communication between separate personalities, because this internal communication helps to "tear down" the wall between the main personality and the successor personality.
4. The occurrence of detached personality is partly due to the failure to meet normal needs. The required functions should be considered and cannot be dealt with lightly.
5. The therapist's responsibility is to help the patient return the successor personalities to their original goals in order to shift the oppositional stance between the successor personalities and the main personality.
6. Resolutely cannot manipulate or separate the main personality and the successor personality, because this strategy usually leads to the failure of treatment.
7. Once the successor personality is formed, it will strongly resist all efforts to destroy it. Therefore, the therapist cannot eliminate it, but should focus on its identity with the subject's personality and try to integrate them so that it operates like normal emotional changes.
Dr. Shen put the guidelines back under his pillow and thought, if I read them again every day before falling asleep, I must be the most qualified psychiatrist in the world.
