In the second act, the Virgin is married privately to a mortal and is forced into Mount Huashan. The maid escapes from the Black Cloud Cave with a small agarwood;
In the third act, Liu Xi forgets about her old wife and marries a new wife, and her stepmother tricks Agarwood to find her mother's heart;
Act 4: An eight-year-old begs for his mother in a ruined temple, and is helped by immortals to keep a low profile for eight more years;
Act 5: Young Chenxiang breaks into the heaven to challenge the question of who is the right source of justice or human feelings;
Epilogue: Mortal Agarwood splits stones day and night to save her mother, and the heaven returns the lotus lantern and the divine axe.
