I was diagnosed with depression in 2016. But in fact, before my parents discovered that I was self-harming, I struggled with this spiritual cold alone for a long time. I was diagnosed and sought medical treatment for moderate depression and severe anxiety. At that time, I was facing academic exams and the pressure to enter higher education. I was already sensitive and worried. A small friction in my family would be enough to turn me into a frightened bird.
This year is 2017. I have been receiving treatment and taking medication for more than half a year. After stopping the medication for two months, I still have sleep disorders and I still shed tears over trivial matters late at night, but I don't want to go back for treatment anymore. From now on, I will go to a strange country alone. I will not let this disease become a stumbling block. I think I will get out of it.
This essay is my record of how I struggled with depression, and how it pushed me to the edge of collapse time and time again in a relaxed and humorous way.
