This is a story of survival in troubled times. Individuals, families, and countries are all in trouble. Who is right and who is wrong cannot be elaborated on. Survive in troubled times, grow in intrigues, and lose in love. Who is to say who is wrong? It's just that they have different paths and don't work together. They just want to survive in troubled times. Taking the four families of the Republic of China as the background, most of them are about things that happened in Shanghai, and a few involve Hong Kong, Beijing, and Chongqing, from the struggle for power to the struggle between aristocratic families to the collective defeat of foreign invaders. The love and hatred between the protagonists are mixed with the helplessness of the feud between the family and the country.
