When Ren Yulian was still in school, her father quietly agreed to Yutagou's marriage proposal. Ren Yulian was unwilling and helpless. After she moved in, the poverty of her husband's family made her suffer from hunger, but she was strong and unyielding and overcame various difficulties in life. Two children died in infancy, and her husband died of illness. She was not as good as dead.
This is an inspirational novel, set in northern Shaanxi during the Communist Party of China, and depicts a woman experiencing all kinds of misfortunes in life but living strong.
