Within Kyushu, three hundred miles to the east, there is a mountain called Qingqiu.
There is a beast in Qingqiu, its shape is like a fox, its temperature is like jade, it is like a moon covered by light clouds, and the snow is covered by the flowing wind. When I see it, I forget the customs. People call it the young master Yuebai.
To the south of Qingqiu is Tushan Mountain. Tushan has always been on good terms with Qingqiu and does not participate in worldly battles.
The Tushan fox tribe has three tails at most, and very few have five tails. Seven tails are the most precious, and those with nine tails are a wonder in the world.
This year, a nine-tailed fox appeared in Tushan, and the whole Tushan was in chaos.
