At first, some scenes popped into my head and I just wanted to write them down. Later I thought I could just connect them together and write them into a story, and I didn't care whether they could be connected or not. So the scenes are not tightly connected and the transitions are not natural.
It's better not to treat it as a text, just as a collection of funny scenes. So don't get me hung up on the historical context and wording.
