"A Path to No End" is not a personal story, it is a collection of some elegant people and events in that imaginary era. If you are not a fan of fast food literature, nor a fan of Mary Suvin, and just want to quietly read an ancient novel without deliberate overloading, then this novel is suitable for you to read. The protagonist of this book, Jeong Doya, is the eldest daughter of the prefect. When she was twelve years old, her great-great-aunt who was serving the Empress Dowager in the palace passed away. She was called into the palace to become the maid of honor for the emperor's sister, Princess Shouchang. Afterwards, the novel uses the perspective of multiple people to show the dynasty's power and the various changes that happened around Dao Ya. Later, it involved the battles outside the palace and military power. The characters of each main character are relatively sophisticated people, and their handling style will be relatively rational, with every step having a reason. Unfortunately, in order to pursue the elegance of writing, many details of events will be scattered in various chapters, which are somewhat obscure and difficult to understand.
