Mapleshade was once a ThunderClan cat, but fell in love with Appletwilight, a RiverClan cat. She was expelled by Oakstar, the leader of the ThunderClan and Birchface's father, for lying about the hybrid kit she gave birth to as the child of the late warrior Birchface, and became a rogue cat. He went through a series of revenges and became the Black Forest Cat after his death.
