It artistically reproduces that period of history.
The book begins with Wang Xiaoyu meeting Liu Zongmin, the general of King Chuang. From Liu Zongmin, Wang Xiaoyu saw the epitome of King Chuang's rebel army. Her curiosity, admiration and finally love for Li Zicheng developed into love, during which Liu Zongmin played a great role. While Li Zicheng's army was in Shangluo, it was besieged by many officers and soldiers and almost faced the situation of annihilation. It was Wang Xiaoyu who persuaded his father Wang Caizhu and the village owners in Shangluo Mountain, and used his fiancé Li Haifeng's relationship to inform the rebel army, and through Li Haifeng's father, he raised food and medicine for the rebel army, and finally made it possible.
