My original intention of writing this novel was not to write about life for the sake of life, but to commemorate my soon-to-be-passed youth. The post-80s and early 90s are a transitional period in the era. They may face more complex problems, whether it is love and emotion, life and work, housing and employment. They will encounter great challenges! My earlier work "In the Mood for Love" depicts the innocent years in middle school, all of which are fragmented scenes...
To our passing youth, looking back suddenly, we have all bid farewell to the youthful and ignorant days on campus, and are about to enter the society to start our own lives. Maybe the moment we enter the society, we will encounter all kinds of confusion and difficulties, face the intensification of employment difficulties, the troubles of marriage and love, and the pressure of housing... And for young people who have just entered the society, we still lack enough understanding of this society. Maybe we have gone through many detours, experienced many setbacks, faced many choices, and encountered many helplessness, but we slowly learned to grow and be strong from difficulties or failures.
Now that I think about this novel, I just wrote it for my dearest people around me. It is the people around me who give us hope and courage in life. It is they who let us see the power of tenacity and forbearance. From them, I understand the principles of life and conduct in the world. I sincerely give this document to my lost youth.
