In the 14th year of Zhengtong in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1449), the leader of Wala also led his army south to attack the Ming Dynasty. During the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Qizhen, led a personal expedition. The Ming army was defeated miserably and Yingzong was captured. His younger brother Zhu Qiyu, King of Yingzong, ascended the throne and proclaimed himself emperor. He changed the Yuan Dynasty to Jingtai. This is known as the Tumubao Incident in history. It was a turning point in the Ming Dynasty's transition from prosperity to decline.
