Human beings suffer from seven kinds of suffering: birth, old age, illness, death, meeting of resentments and hatreds, separation from love, and not being able to seek what they want.
Seeking is desire, not being able to seek is the most distressing.
Throughout the ages, from the royal family to the common people, most of them have tortured themselves because of "not getting what they want".
If you cannot seek eternal life, you must die if you seek;
Can't seek wealth and honor, can't seek reunion;
You cannot seek youth and good health;
I can't ask for love to accompany you, I can't ask for lingering affection;
After all the efforts and calculations, in the end it may just be water in a bamboo basket and the moon at the bottom of a well...
This is a completely fictional story,
I just pretended to tell it in the magnificent era of the Tang Dynasty.
Telling about the prosperity of ancient Chang'an,
Telling about the loneliness and desolation of the vast desert,
Telling about the turmoil of the ancient countries in the Western Regions,
Telling about the twists and turns of the thousand-mile road to Shu,
Telling about the golden war and iron horses in the turbulent years,
Telling about a wisp of smoke buried in the ruins of the chaotic city.
