It has been raining off and on for two or three weeks, and it has no intention of stopping. At first, it was piecemeal, but it felt fresh; later, as we settled down in the morning and dusk, and sometimes visited late at night, it became a bit annoying; and then it became more and more lingering and pathos, and we simply kept making noise outside the door. It rains during the Huangmei season, and frogs appear in green grass and ponds. No matter how you close the door, you can't stop it from worming its way into people's hearts. What's more, the furniture store is open and empty, with a musty smell of wood and paint, and sticky moisture can't help but rush up. Occasionally, one or two people walked in, either to take shelter from the rain, or they took a quick turn and were startled away by the sound of their own footsteps echoing in the hall.
