In the sixth year of the Ming Dynasty, Li Fuguo, the magistrate of Hangzhou, was implicated in his family because he refused to build a shrine for Wei Zhongxian, leaving only two sons, Xiu Yuan and Confucianism. Fortunately, monk Tongxing from Songshan Shaolin came to the rescue and sent the two brothers Xiu Yuan and Xiu Ru to the Shaolin Temple to escape the disaster.
Twelve years later, both brothers have grown up. The elder brother Xiu Yuan wanted to avenge his father, while the younger brother Xiu Ru was obsessed with Shaolin. The two also went their separate ways because of several tragedies that occurred in the Shaolin Temple...
