Mu Qi teaches in the countryside and meets Er Sheng, a fool who picks up rags. Mu Qi sympathizes with Er Sheng and wants to help him. The two live together in a simple employment relationship. Mu Qi gradually becomes interested in Er Sheng, but he discovers that Er Sheng's past was even more miserable and worse. All of this points to his brother who often punched and kicked Er Sheng. . . . .
