In the first grade of elementary school, the very mean English teacher had a strange look on his face and seemed to be suppressing a smile. He looked at the fat girl with thick short hair in front of him and gave her the English name "Apple".
Then, this English name accompanied her throughout her life and the long, long years with no end in sight.
