When I was fifteen years old, my uncle took me home.
He clasped his hands in front of the Buddha. At that moment, his eyes were silent, his fingertips were filled with fragrance, and he was silent for a lifetime.
"What is eternity? Eternity is to carve a person into the heart and use up a lifetime of love and faith to carry the prosperity and desolation he has walked through."
At that moment, I thought he would cry.
"Uncle, when will you come back?"
He thought for a while and said, "Let's wait until the cypress blooms in front of the door."
After he left, I waited year after year, waiting for the cypress tree to bloom, waiting for me to become his eternity.
The only eternity.
