This is the story of a man named Stanley.
Stanley works in a company in a building. He is employee 427.
Employee 427's job is simple: sit at a desk and press buttons on a keyboard.
The display tells him the instructions: what buttons to press, how long to press them, and in what order.
This is what Employee 427 does day after day, year after year. Although others think this job is maddeningly boring,
But Stanley enjoyed every moment of giving instructions, as if he was born for this job.
Stanley is happy.
One day, however, something strange happened.
He sat in front of the screen for a long time before he realized that an hour had passed and the screen didn't even give a single command.
No one came forward to explain, no one asked him to go to the meeting, no one even said hello to him. He had never encountered anything like this in the company in all his years, where he was the only one left.
All his colleagues were gone. What does that mean?
