I was born in South Korea since I was a child, and I have Korean blood. When I was in sixth grade, my mother decided to send me to South Korea.
I often have no way of understanding their thoughts. Why should I be sent to a strange China?
My academic performance is not good, and I am not smart. Mom said that only by doing this can I take shortcuts and find a better life.
It wasn't until I got off the plane and stood in this strange city that I realized how much my life had changed.
The Chinese I learned in Korea was almost useless. I couldn't piece together a complete sentence. I stayed at a grandma's house and she was responsible for teaching me simple Chinese and writing. I don't want to think about that painful time because it is meaningless. During that time, I seemed to be a disabled person, unable to write, speak or understand.
