The prototype is a re-creation of Bleach, the God of Death, but apart from borrowing some settings, it does not involve the original plot at all.
What's more, it has been changed beyond recognition, so it doesn't affect your reading if you haven't seen Death.
(Pseudo-spoiler) The main difference from the original work——
The plot of the real world will not be too weakened (the map changes to China) and there are no original characters among the main characters;
The God of Death is adjusted to a human superpower (I have not read the Quincy chapter) and the power form is an organization;
The Hollow is in the form of a low-level monster, so it is treated like a monster being beaten;
After the virtual evolution into human form, it is more similar to a spirit body, and the relationship between the spirit body and the superpower is not hostile.
